Magic: The Gathering Store Claims Jumpstart Release Pushed to August

Jumpstart, the new supplementary Magic: The Gathering set, is now available on Magic: The Gathering Arena, and it's scheduled to be released tomorrow in all regions where MTG is sold, but one UK-based retailer is claiming that release of the product is being pushed back to August.

In an email sent to a Redditor, the Magic Madhouse support team explained the reason why Jumpstart was delayed to sometime in August.

"As you may be aware, this product's release date has been pushed back due to manufacturing difficulties caused by the COVID epidemic," the email said. "We have received confirmation this week that the product's release has now been pushed back to sometime in August, though at present we do not have an exact date as to when it will be."

Magic Madhouse is located in the UK so the delay of Jumpstart's release most likely only affects European retailers. Some US-based game stores are repotedly selling Jumpstart packs for $12 each due to the limited amount of available products, and a Redditor recently shared a photo of a Walmart already selling Jumpstart packs a day prior to its official release date.

Jumpstart is set to launch on Magic: The Gathering Arena on July 16, one day after the paper release of the product. Jumpstart events in Arena will run until August 16.
