Magic: The Gathering Senior Designer Gavin Verhey Says There's A 'Good Reason' Why 5th Magus is Absent in Commander 2019

Magic: The GatheringCommander 2019 will feature four magus cards but some fans are wondering why there's no green magus in the upcoming Commander decks while there's one for each other color. According to MTG Senior Designer Gavin Verhey, there's a good reason why but fans will have to wait for his future explanation.

"To steel everybody appropriately: the 5th Magus is absent from #MTGC19," Verhey wrote. "There's a good reason for what I'll admit is an unusual pattern break, but I can't tell you why yet. I promise some day I'll explain it. For now, I guess... Let the rampant speculation begin."

Here are the 4 Magus cards that will be in Commander 2019:

There must be a weird reason why there's no green magus in this cycle. Maybe there's a colorless magus in Commander 2019? What do you think is the reason? Let us know in the comments section below.
