Magic: The Gathering Secret Lairs Are Successful, Will Continue in 2020

The Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair drop series that launched last week, and it according to MTG head designer Mark Rosewater, it turned out to be a success despite order issues and expensive international shipping/customs costs. Now Rosewater has confirmed that Secret Lair will continue in 2020.

"I can say we're happy with how it went, and yes, we're going to do more in 2020," Rosewater wrote on his Blogatog.

Wizards of the Coast may have sold a bunch of Secret Lairs for the drop series to be considered a success, but are they really worth their price? The Professor of Tolarian Community College pointed out that only the Kaleidoscope Killers Secret Lair has an excellent overall value out of the seven Secret Lairs.

Rosewater's statement about the Secret Lairs resonated with what Wizards Product Architect Mark Heggen told IGN: they "have more plans for Secret Lair in 2020," saying that it will "absolutely continue" beyond this first series.

What would you like to see in future Secret Lairs? Do you think Wizards should continue to sell them or do you think they're huring local game stores worldwide? Feel free to discuss in the comments section below.
