Eli Loveman, the champion of Magic: The Gathering Mythic Championship II in London, hasn't been invited to participate in the upcoming MTG Arena Mythic Championship III this month in Las Vegas. The "Constructed Master" has shared his reaction on Twitter and he's clearly not happy about not being part of the upcoming tournament.
Earlier this week, Wizards of the Coast announced the 68 participants of Mythic Championship III including the 32 (MPL) Magic Pro League members, qualifiers from MTG Arena, and other challenges invited to the competition but Loveman is not one of them.
Over on Twitter, Loveman expressed his frustration over why he wasn't invited to MCIII after winning MCII in London in April.
So what else do I have to win to get an invite to an arena MC?— Eli Heller Loveman (@blackshirtman) June 10, 2019
Loveman tweeted: "So what else do I have to win to get an invite to an arena MC?"
Some members of the MTG community are also speaking up about Loveman as well as other pros and streamers being left off the invite list.
@MagicEsports @bearfromspace What in the world is going on over there? What a failed mess of an attempt at an "esport." Stop pretending you care about competitive Magic and just be honest that you want this whole thing to be an advertisement. https://t.co/i4yoqRRQb4 #wotc #magic— Anon Man (@AnonOpinions87) June 12, 2019
It's a sad sad day when this is an earnest conversation about qualifying for a major event :( https://t.co/BLFCOIY6GQ— Jon Finkel (@Jonnymagic00) June 10, 2019
Snubbing an absolute constructed master (and most recent MC winner) @blackshirtman who wrote one of the best deck guides I’ve personally ever seen is suspect at best. What is this championship for if not to highlight the game’s absolute best players?— Adam Fox (@lefoxtrott) June 10, 2019
