Magic: The Gathering Head Designer Apologizes For Bashing Kamigawa Design Team

Earlier today, Magic: The Gathering head designer Mark Rosewater posted a playful comic on his Blogatog that fired a massive shot at the Champions of Kamigawa block design team. "What if we held a mediocre design search?" the comic read. The punch line was written on the bottom of the comic: "How Champions of Kamigawa block happened." Many Magic players agreed with his opinion but now, he's just realizing that it came out harsher than he expected.

On his Twitter page, Rosewater, a.k.a. MaRo tweeted an apology to the designers of Kamigawa.

Anyone can say that each Magic set has "lots of good stuff" in them. Although I'm not a fan of Kamigawa block overall, the sets still featured some beautiful art, wonderful Japanese mythos-inspired themes, and cool legendary dragons.

So what do you think about the Kamigawa block? Are you a fan of its design and mechanics? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Rivals of Ixalan, the next Magic expansion, is set to launch this Friday.
