Magic: The Gathering Arena Director Chris Clay Parted Ways With Wizards of the Coast

Wizards of the Coast

Magic: The Gathering Arena director Chris Clay has announced that he's parting ways from Wizards of the Coast. On the MTGA forums posted on Wednesday, Clay explained that his departure was a personal decision.

"I'd like to take a moment to thank the MTG Arena community and the Magic community as a whole for letting me be a part of it these past three years," Clay wrote. "Being the Game Director on MTG Arena and seeing it blossom thanks to the wonderful development team, my fellow Wizards, and the passion of all of you has been one of the highlights of my career. While time has come for me to move on, I hope to be a part of the community for a long time to come."

Clay will surely be missed. It felt like he listened to players feedbacks well and he seemed passionate about the game. Jay Parker will be the new MTGA director. I hope the new director will be able to fill Clay's shoes.
