Magic: The Gathering 2020 Mythic Invitational Metagame Breakdown Revealed


The 2020 Magic: The Gathering Mythic Invitational kicked off today with 161 of the best Magic players from around the world compete on MTG Arena for their slice of the $250,000 prize pool and a spot for the Season Grand Final. The online tournament will run over the course of four days, and you can watch it at Twitch.tv/magic.

Today, Wizards of the Coast has revealed the metagame breakdown of the Historic decks players are using at the Mythic Invitational, and as you can see, Mono Red Goblins is on the top with 32 players (20%) running the aggressive deck. Sultai Midrange and Jund Sacrifice follow. The next three are Bant Control, Mono-Black God's Pharaoh's Gift, and Rakdos Arcanist.

It looks like graveyard strategies are popular in the Mythic Invitational metagame, and Kethis Combo seems to be the only strong Combo archetype represented in this breakdown.

The 2020 Mythic Invitational takes place at 11 am CT on September 10 to 13.
