Wizards of the Coast
Wizards of the Coast have released a new trailer for the upcoming Magic: The Gathering set War of the Spark and it features a look at a violent storm and various paintings of planeswalkers on the stained glass windows of a cathedral. Then the view breaks through one of the windows and gives us a look at a candelabra with flames going out because of the wind but one candle remains with a flame.
The teaser doesn't really reveal any plot spoilers but we already know that the next set will be more story-driven and that it will is said to focus on the epic war between Nicol Bolas and the Gatewatch. It's also the third consecutive Magic set to be set in the world of Ravnica.
The trailer concludes with the date of the pre-release event for War of the Spark: April 27, on the same weekend as MagicFest London and the second Mythic Championship this year. Many players and shop owners in the UK community are not happy about the schedule conflict. Various gaming stores from southeast England wrote an open letter to Wizards about it.
War of the Spark will be released in April 2019.
