Wizards of the Coast

Magic: The Gathering's Grand Prix Hong Kong 2018 is happening this weekend but foreigners who are planning to go to the event should be aware that a super typhoon named Mangkhut is expected to make landfall in Hong Kong between September 15 and 16.

It's being reported that the super typhoon will be the strongest typhoon to hit Hong Kong in history, with maximum sustained winds 240 km/h. The storm is categorized as Category 5 while Hurricane Florence is at Category 4, so players planning to participate at Grand Prix Hong Kong should be prepared because this typhoon is no joke.

According to Panda Events' official Facebook page, there's no change to the Grand Prix, but players should follow closely for event updates. The event will take place at the Kowloon International Trade & Exhibition Centre so you can check out the information regarding the GP's venue at the Storm Watch post on Facebook.

Players should also check the Hong Kong Observatory for the latest news regarding the super typhoon.

I was actually thinking of going to Grand Prix Hong Kong but the registration was full by the time I tried to register online. For those who are going to GP Hong Kong, stay safe and have fun!

The main event for the Grand Prix is Modern, and you can check out more details about the event at Panda Events' website.
