Jiren's Wish in Dragon Ball Super Finally Revealed

Toei Animation

Jiren was one of the best characters introduced in Dragon Ball Super. The Universe 11 warrior was the strongest fighter Universe 7 had to face in the Tournament of Power but he lost the competition thanks to Goku, Frieza, and Android 17's epic team-up against the powerful villain. The anime series didn't reveal what he could have wished if he won the tournament, but the manga version has made some changes with the saga and it finally revealed his wish.

According to Herms98's translation of the manga, Jiren wants to resurrect his master, who was named after "kitchen" and was killed by a demon.

In the anime, Universe 11's God of Destruction Vermoud revealed that when Jiren's master lost to an "evil-doer" and presumed dead, Jiren's fellow fighters lost the motivation to fight back against their enemy, and that's when Jiren realizes he can only rely on his own power to fight that evil.

Dragon Ball Super is available for streaming on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami still airs the English dub of Dragon Ball Super on Adult Swim Saturdays at 9:30 p.m. It's also available to stream on FunimationNOW and Amazon. The upcoming Dragon Ball Super film will be released in Japan on December 14 and Funimation will release it in North America sometime in January 2019.
