Bautista has been one of Gunn's most vocal supporters since the filmmaker was fired from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. after critics brought up controversial tweets about rape and pedophilia jokes back in July. Bautista has supported Gunn, launching a campaign with the other Guardians actors to persuade Disney to rehire the filmmaker, and even went as far as to say that he would leave the film should Disney opt not to use Gunn's script.
Right now, plot details for Suicide Squad 2 have been kept under wraps.
