Game of Thrones Challenges Fans to Find 6 Actual Iron Thrones Hidden Around the World

HBO

In celebration of Game of Thrones' eighth and final season, HBO has launched the third phase of its "For the Throne" campaign with a global treasure hunt. Six Iron Thrones have been hidden across the world, and if you find where they are, you win the honor of saying that you found an Iron Throne.

An Instagram post invited fans to "Seek the Weirdwood in this Kingdom of Earth", and HBO also released a series of videos shot around the location of the first throne. Each hour-long video is set in a forest, and since they were shot with a 360-degree camera, you can look around the locations to get some clues as to where the thrones are.

As you can see, there's not a lot going on in this video. You can observe the sun's movement as the video goes through dawn, day, and dusk but that's about it. This could be just a publicity stunt to get fans to watch hours of nature footage.

Game of Thrones is set to premiere on April 14.
