Earlier today, Toei Animation revealed that the title of the upcoming film is Dragon Ball Super: Broly, which will finally make the fan-favorite villain part of the official canon. This was surprising to many fans who thought that a new Saiyan would be introduced in the upcoming film.
There were additional details to the film's storyline also revealed from the new Dragon Ball Super: Broly promotional materials, and you can check them below. Herms98 revealed the translations of the official details revealed, which you can read here:
"Yep, the title of the new movie is Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Tagline: "The greatest enemy, a Saiyan". The Twitter account asks "how will these three Saiyans with different destinies meet?"
As you can see in the poster above, the three Saiyans are Goku, Vegeta, and Broly. We'll probably see Goku and Vegeta team-up against the Saiyan villain. Although Broly's canonized story hasn't been revealed yet, the fact that the film will feature him and Frieza suggests that details from the non-canon Dragon Ball Z films could be incorporated in the new film. The film is said to also explore the origins of the Saiyans' extraordinary power.
Dragon Ball Super is available for streaming on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami still airs the English dub of Dragon Ball Super on Adult Swim Saturdays at 9:30 p.m. It's also available to stream on FunimationNOW and Amazon. The upcoming Dragon Ball Super film will be released on December 14.
