Deployed Soldiers Receive Magic: The Gathering Gifts From Wizards of the Coast

The season of giving is here, so Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro have sent a special package to a group of deployed American soldiers to thank them for their service, and that gift is the best game in the world: Magic: The Gathering.

Redditor BeansWorther shared a screenshot of a soldier's Facebook post showing a couple of photos of Guilds of Ravnica booster boxes and a letter from Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro addressed to the deployed soldiers. "There's always been a voice in the Magic community calling Wizards a greedy company," the post reads. "Wizards just did something really generous for me and my fellow soldiers on deployment, though. I don't see a lot of this on the group, so I would like to share this with everyone that it's happening, and happens very often."

"Accept this package as a simple gesture of appreciation," the letter from Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro reads. "Thank you, very, very much!!!"

Wizards of the Coast was recently criticized for a bunch of reasons lately, such as those issues addressed by pro player Gerry Thompson when he protested the state of professional Magic earlier this year but seeing posts like the one above proves that they're not evil. Last month, Wizards of the Coast gave the group of Magic-playing library kids a full prerelease experience after their organizer had his Wizards Play Network status revoked. I hope they continue to give deployed soldiers the gift of Magic.
