Cyberpunk 2077 Quest Designer Hints at New Game Plus Mode

Pawel Sasko, the lead quest designer for Cyberpunk 2077, has hinted that a New Game Plus Mode may be in the works for the highly-anticipated RPG from CD Projekt Red.

Redditor CaptainGJB sent Sasko a private message on Twitter and asked if it would be possible to "have a character with every stat/ability maxed out, or will it be closer to [The Witcher 3] in that there's limited upgrade slots?"

Sasko responded, saying that, while they are still working on character progression and it may change in time, "most likely it won't be possible to max out everything on [one] playthrough, as it would have little sense to have a game that is about replayability and choices, while in the same time allow the players to max out all the stats on the first run."

While Sasko didn't confirm anything about a New Game Plus mode, his response hints that CD Projekt Red is planning on having Cyberpunk 2077 become a game that encourages multiple playthroughs with certain skills and stats carrying over between them.

CD Projekt Red's other game, The Witcher 3, did not feature a New Game Plus mode when it was released but it was added to the game to let players experience alchemy recipes, items, and money carry over to a new playthrough.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020. Keanu Reeves is playing a major role in the game.

CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3 will be released on the Nintendo Switch.
