7 Best Theros Beyond Death Magic: The Gathering Cards Worth Money Now

With the release of Theros: Beyond Death last Friday, Magic: The Gathering booster box sets, and booster packs are now available. Singles are also now on sale, and there's an interesting mix of gods, planeswalkers, and titans rounding out the top cards worth money, but prices of the new cards are still fluctuating as the metagame continues to evolve with Theros Beyond Death.

If you're looking to buy the best cards for your new Standard deck or to make your Commander deck spicier, check out seven of the best Theros: Beyond Death cards and their current prices at the time of this writing, according to MTGGoldfish.

Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath - $22.31

"Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath" makes Simic decks more efficient, and it's been one of the most played cards in Magic Arena since Theros Beyond Death released digitally, and it's arguably the best card in the set, and much more playable and more expensive than the other elder titan in the set, Kroxa. The amount of card and life advantage this elder titan makes when it comes to play and attacks is insane, and you cast it as early as Turn 2 with "Gilded Goose" but of course, you have to Escape if you want its 6/6 body to stay in the field. It's now worth $22, and even though the card recently dropped in price, I wouldn't be surprised if it goes up significantly as the metagame establishes itself.

You can watch me pilot the new Simic Elementals Ramp deck with the new Uro below:

Heliod, Sun-Crowned - $15.65

Mono-White weenies/aggro is back thanks to "Heliod, Sun-Crowned", and like Thassa, the god who slayed Elspeth in the first Theros block is back, and it's priced around $15. The ability to give your creatures lifegain while giving a +1+1 counter everytime you gain is an effective strategy that fits white-based aggressive builds.

Thassa, Deep Dwelling - $15.35

The other god worth money is the new Thassa card. Also worth around $15, the blue planeswalker's ability to flicker (exile creatures and return them to the field) creatures to retrigger enter-the-battlefield effects or permanently control your opponent's creatures after stealing them with other means makes this card worth including in Standard and even some Commander decks. I also used one copy in my Simic Elementals Ramp deck, as shown in the video above. Don't forget that Thassa also has the ability to tap creatures for four mana, an ability that saved me multiple times recently.

Ashiok, Nightmare Muse - $14.98

Ashiok is surprisingly the most expensive planeswalker in the set, and the card is seeing a lot of play in Magic Arena. The blue/black planeswalker efficiently creates tokens that can either protect itself while having the ability to exile the top two cards of your opponent's library during combat. Expect to see this card in Dimir Control or Midrange builds in Standard.

Nyxbloom Ancient - $11.94

"Nyxbloom Ancient" is definitely one of the best Theros Beyond Death cards for Commander, so it's not surprising to see it around $12 now, but I won't be surprised if this card shows up in certain competitive Simic Ramp Standard builds. For six mana, you get a 5/5 Trample Elemental that can ramp up your mana three times. No wonder Ali Aintrazi was able to summon a huge "Hydroid Krasis" with this card recently.

Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger - $9.62

Although it's half the price of the other elder titan in the set, Kroxa is still playable in Rakdos builds. Worth around $10, this elder titan can make your opponent discard a card while dealing early damage if they didn't discard a nonland card. Combine this with a bunch of early burn spells that could also fill your graveyard for Kroxa's Escape ability, then you can potentially have an aggressive start that's hard to stop.

Dryad of Ilysian Grove - $8.61

Theros Beyond Death's sexy dryad has risen up in value since its release. Although it's priced around $8 now, the card spiked to $10 at one point, and it won't be surprising to see this card go up in price more.

Overall, with only one card worth more than $20 currently, Theros Beyond Death doesn't have as many expensive singles as other Magic sets in recent years.
