4 Magic: The Gathering MagicFest Events Cancelled Due to Coronavirus Concerns

Two weeks after MagicFest Turin was cancelled due to Coronavirus concerns, more major Magic: The Gathering events are being cancelled, and today, ChannelFireball has announced the cancellation of four more events: MagicFest Detroit (March 13), MagicFest San Paulo (March 20), MagicFest Louiseville (March 27), and MagicFest Palm Beach (April 10).

"The safety of MagicFest attendees is important to us and we have been monitoring the evolving public health situation closely," ChannelFireball stated. "Based on additional guidance from government and public health officials, MagicFest Detroit, MagicFest Sao Paulo, MagicFest Louiseville, and MagicFest Palm Beach are cancelled."

"We regret any disappointment this may cause," ChannelFireball added. "If you have already registered for events or packages at any of these MagicFests those purchases will be automatically refunded."

ChannelFireball went on to say that they will process refunds as soon as possible. I'm glad that ChannelFireball is putting the safety of MagicFest attendees first.

If the COVID-19 or Coronavirus continues to be a problem, it's likely that more MTG events will be cancelled this year, and ChannelFireball said that the rest of MagicFests are proceeding as scheduled but they will keep monitoring the situation.
