2 'New' Magic: The Gathering Keywords Revealed (For Ikoria?)

Magic: The Gathering Arena gets a new update today (March 12), adding new social features, Historic cards, Color Challenges, special bundles, and more, but the game update highlights on MTG Arena's official forums also revealed two new keywords introduced with the latest update, and the next Magic set, Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths, might feature them.

The latest MTG Arena update introduces the two new keywords: Backbone and Unstoppable, and here's how they are described:

> Cards that deal damage based on their Toughness now use the term "Backbone" in ability hangers.
> Cards that can assign damage as if they had not been blocked now use the term "Unstoppable" in their ability hangers.

We've seen creatures with these abilities before, but Wizards of the Coast is finally giving them official keywords that we'll most likely see in Ikoria cards. After all, the upcoming set is described as a "monster world" so we might see several new creatures with Backbone and Unstoppable.

Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths will officially be released on April 24, 2020. Prerelease events will take place from April 17-19. The latest update is already up on MTG Arena today.
