Guild Esports Disqualified in Valorant First Strike Qualifiers EU for Using Exploit

The David Beckham-owned Guild Esports received a forfeit loss in the Valorant First Strike: Europe playoffs on Friday after the team used an exploit in its match against G2 Esports. G2 took the place of Guild in its match, and Guild will be allowed to return in the Qualifiers this week.

Guild Esports beat G2 2-0 in the Round 16 of the first qualifier, but in an official statement, Riot Games stated that exploits are prohibited from professional competition, and that Guild used an exploit on Ascent, which they won 13-11, and were subsequently disqualified, so G2 received a forfeit win, and took Guild's place in its match against Ninjas in Pyjamas. G2 won and secured a place in the Regional Finals of the First Strike event.

The exploit was a combined use of Sage's ice wall and Killjoy's Turret to increase the height of the turret by a fair distance. The player would be elevanted thanks to the wall and turret to watch the B main Entry hallway from the 1st lane to the site.

Guild Esports offiically released a statement claiming that their Valorant team had "deployed an innovative use of abilities that was permitted". The company requested Riot to consider this as an "unintentional exploit", and asked them to remove it from the tactical first-person shooter.
