J.K. Rowling Shares Rejection Letters She Received From Publishers

Even world-renowned novelists encounter failure – this is a lesson that Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has taught aspiring writers (and people in general) time and time again.

The 50-year-old novelist is reminding her followers on Twitter of this fact once again. She took to the social media platform to post a few rejection letters from publishers after she pitched manuscripts under her pseudonym, Robert Galbraith.

Her first tweet read:

I wasn't going to give up until every single publisher turned me down, but I often feared that would happen.

After that, she shared the letters:

Rowling decided to post the letters after a fan was rejected by a publisher.

The novelist also provided some words of encouragement to fans, saying:

I pinned my 1st rejection letter to my kitchen wall because it gave me something in common with all my fave writers!

She then asked her fans if they wanted to see letters of rejection from her pseudonym:

The Potter ones are now in a box in my attic, but I could show you @RGalbraith's?

Rowling also revealed that one of those publishers was the one who rejected Harry Potter a long time ago:

The British novelist, who has written a handful of book since her beloved Harry Potter series, has proved an inspiration to her fans and many people for countless of years. She has long spoken about her experiences, the merits of failure, and turning these failures around to motivate one's self to succeed in achieving his/her dreams.
