J.K. Rowling Responds To Fan Asking Why Dumbledore is Gay

J.K. Rowling has defended Dumbledore's sexuality after she was asked by a young Harry Potter fan why Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore was a homosexual.

Back in 2007, after the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows novel was published, Rowling revealed that Dumbedore was gay.

In a Tweet that has since been deleted, fan Ana Kocovic said: "Thank you so much for writing Harry Potter. I wonder why you said that Dumbledore is a gay because I can't see him in that way."

Rowling's powerful response was simply: "Maybe because gay people just look like…people?"

Ms Kocovic then thanked the Rowling:

@jk_rowling amazing answer... Yes you are absolutely right. Such an inspiration!!!

This is not surprising as most fans of Rowling's series already know the author's stance on homosexuality. Her Harry Potter series shows that bigotry is a force of evil that could be defeated, and she has been open about her views against it in previous interviews.

So what do you think about J.K. Rowling's response to the fan's question?

In another Potter-related news, there's a rumor that Doctor Who Matt Smith might lead the Harry Potter spin-offFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
