Star Wars producer J.J. Abrams promises fans that the Han Solo spin-off movie will be bringing in more exciting things that will re-launch the character into greater galactic levels.
The Han Solo movie is an origin film and a prequel that gives us the back story on our favorite mercenary-turned hero. The shoot has officially started in London and the targeted release date has been set for 2018. Abrams, who is executive- producing Star Wars: The Last Jedi, has seen a copy of the Han Solo script and admits that it has blown him away.
He told Fox News, "I can tell you it is an amazing script and the cast is obviously extraordinary."
The man who reinvigorated the Star Wars franchise with his direction of Star Wars: The Force Awakens also feels grateful for being given the opportunity to shape the legacy of a major influence in his childhood. He continues:
"I think it is a thrill to be a part of something that meant so much to me as a kid and to be part of allowing it to mean so much for kids now. It is fun to see it live on in various forms and ways even five years ago I would have never imagined it would have continued and knowing what is coming up is even more exciting."
It is a passionate sentiment that the fans and the cast members in the movie, like JoonasSuotoma(the new Chewbacca), can definitely relate to.
Abrams' words have raised expectations further for a movie that has already stoked genuine fan interest. The producer is one authentic source as he has repeatedly hit the ball out of the park in many of his movies, like the new Star Trek, Cloverfield, and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.
The new Han Solo movie stars Alden Ehrenreich who will step into the huge boots left by Harrison Ford. It also co-stars Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, and Donald Glover. Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, it has been set for a May 25, 2018 release.
