It’s Official – Shuri Is the Smartest Character In The MCU

For the longest time, Marvel fans debate on the smartest hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe used to center around Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo). However, the conversation started to change once Black Panther hit the big screen, introducint T'Challa's (Chadwick Boseman) genius sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) to the MCU. Young and feisty, Shuri was super intelligent for her age, and fans were pretty sure that the Wakandan Princess would give Tony a run for his money.

Now, it looks like the Russo Brothers end the debate themselves, confirming that Shuri actually is the most intelligent hero in the MCU. Speaking in a video for Wired, Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo give each hero in Infinity War a description.

The director's assessment of Shuri is pretty clear – "Shuri is the smartest person in the Marvel universe."

Joe describes Shuri further, calling her "the brains behind Wakanda's incredibly advanced technology."

Considering her age and her capabilities, it's definitely easy calling Shuri the most intelligent character in the MCU. However, fans could still debate that Shuri's abilities are because of her exposure to advanced tech in Wakanda. They could also continue rallying for other characters like Vision (Paul Bettany) and Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) too. After all, everyone has their own biases.
