Injustice 2: No Mortal Kombat Characters In Fighter Pack 3

When Sub-Zero and Raiden were announced for Injustice 2, it got a mixed reception from fans. Some appreciated seeing the Mortal Kombat fighters, since the game was developed by the same creators, while others wanted more DC characters. It seems like the latter are about to get their wish, as Ed Boon made a simple statement regarding more Mortal Kombat characters.

Replying to a speculation Tweet from Mortal Kombat Online, regarding the possibility of more characters from that series, he simply said "nope." Though Boon has lead fans on in the past, the fact that he wasn't vague or coy about his answer might be all the proof we need. It will be interesting to see if Fighter Pack 3 only has DC characters, or if the heavily rumored Spawn will finally make his appearance.

Now that there won't be any more Mortal Kombat characters in Injustice 2, it's safe to assume that Sub-Zero and Raiden will be the only MK fighters in the roster. Sub-Zero can actually have shaders that match Scorpion and Reptile, though he will still fight with ice-based attacks regardless.

Injustice 2 is available now on the PS4 and Xbox One. Fighter Pack 1 is available now and has Red Hood, Starfire and the aforementioned Sub-Zero. Fighter Pack 2 will have Black Manta, Raiden and Hellboy. Manta will be released sometime this month.
