Idris Elba Doesn't Care For Negative 'Dark Tower' Reviews

Stephen King's Dark Tower was one of 2017's most hyped movies, so the fact that it ended up being bad was a huge disappointment. With Idris Elba and Matthew Mcconaughey in the film, fans had high hopes that were sadly dashed away by the poor script and some of the CGI. With a television series and more movies planned, Elba doesn't have time to care about the film's scores.

During an interview with Mashable, Elba did mention that the original source material would be difficult for adaptation. Still, he seems to stand by the film he's in, saying "until one of the reviewers that had something to say adapts it and does a great job, well I don't want to hear what they have to say."

Elba also confirmed that he would be in the Dark Tower television series which would spinoff from the movie, but didn't really give any details regarding it. He also praised Stephen King, calling him "one of the most prolific writers in our generation," while jokingly suggesting that the author needs a hug.

While this Stephen King adaptation didn't do well, another one did. It ended up having the best opening weekend for a horror movie, and has gotten a number of positive reviews. The sequel will supposedly be darker in tone, which is saying something since the first film already tackled a number of disturbing topics.
