Promotion for Star Wars The Last Jedi and Star Wars Battlefront II seem to go hand-in-hand; D23 saw the release of a new BTS sizzle reel for The Last Jedi, and now we have a new campaign story for the campaign mode’s lead protagonist Iden Verso.

Battlefront II seems to be taking a leaf from the original games in the sense that the story will put the Empire as the protagonists once again. With the original Battlefront II, players followed the story of the clonetroopers of the 501st. With this one, we follow Iden Verso and her Inferno Squadron after the loss of the Empire (and the Emperor) on Endor.

Here, we actually get to see a more human side to the Imperials who believe that their system is truly what brings peace and justice to the galaxy. Iden will have been brought up as an Imperial from birth since her father is a high-ranking officer, and she is said to have witnessed the destruction of both Death Stars.

It’s just a guess, but it seems that Iden will be critical to the formation of the First Order in the sequel trilogy, and we may have her and her Inferno Squadron to thank for things like the Starkiller, Captain Phasma, and General Hux. We may even get a bit more backstory on Snoke and the Knights of Ren.

I’m very excited for Battlefront II. After the first one ended up as a dud for most fans, DICE and EA are looking to make up for their mistakes in Star Wars Battlefront II.

Star Wars Battlefront II comes out Nov. 17.
