Hulk Actor Mark Ruffalo’s Advice To Josh Brolin On What To Expect Playing Thanos

Josh Brolin's Thanos may have been placed on the sidelines in past films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but every event in the franchise has been leading up to his shining moment in the Avengers: Infinity War movies. After his minions' unsuccessful attempts at collecting the Infinity Stones, Thanos will finally be stepping down his floating chair in space to do the dirty work himself.

Infinity War writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely already know how they will approach the Thanos challenge in the films. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo are also prepared to take on the Thanos challenge, as they described in a previous interview how they will dimensionalize the character.

However, for actor Josh Brolin, the challenge is in preparing to perform all the motion capture heavy work for the character. As such, he thought of asking Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo, who he's been friends for quite some time, on playing a CGI character. In an interview with Comic Book Resources, he said:

I just said, what do I have to look forward to? And he said, 'Man, the first time I did ... Hulk, was really embarrassing because I'm out there and I'm like on cinder blocks and shit trying to act out this stuff for other people. And then I saw the movie, and ... I'm so blown away that I couldn't actually wait to get back there and to do all that stuff again that I found embarrassing in the beginning.' He says, 'You're going to have a blast'

Well, Brolin isn't exactly inexperienced with the motion capture aspect since he has done work for Thanos every now and then. However, it's still probably helpful knowing from Ruffalo's advice that while it may be weird seeing your co-actors doing stunts in superhero costumes while you're in technical gear, it will be all worth it in the end.

Audiences haven't really seen Thanos move, aside from making hand gestures in his floating chair, but we're expecting to see more action from the Mad Titan when the movies finally hits theaters.

In any case, the 48-year-old actor seems to have complete faith in the Infinity War team, and he even described in a recent interview about how psyched he is for filming, and we're very thrilled to see the movie and get updates on filming too.
