Horror Writer R.L. Stine Joins Marvel

Horror writer R.L. Stine is going to be writing a comic for Marvel, a Reddit AMA revealed. The author is best known for his series of childrens horror novels, Goosebumps. There is yet to be an official announcement for Marvel about this comic.

A redditor asked Stine, "Have you ever considered writing for comic books?" Stine responded. "I'm writing a series of comic books for Marvel– my first comics ever. But I'm not allowed to talk about them yet."

Stine is certainly a prolific writer for Marvel to add to their staff. Stine's Goosebumps series ran from 1992 to 1997, spanning 62 novels. The series was recently revived and continues into the modern day. In addition to a television series, Goosebumps recently got a 2015 movie adaptation. In it, Jack Black played Stine himself while Stine played a teacher called "Mr. Black."

In addition to Goosebumps, Stein is the author behind the Young Adult horror series Fear Street and the recent series Mostly Ghostly. According to the aforementioned Reddit AMA, his latest work is an adult novel titled Red Rain. Stine has been writing horror novels since 1986 and has sold over 400 million copies.

I remember being thrilled and chilled by Goosebumps as a kid, so I look forward to seeing what kind of comic Stine turns out. What about you? Are you hyped to see Stine's comic?
