Honor And Glory: Overwatch Short Explores Origins Of Reinhardt

Last week saw a lot of reveals for Blizzard's Overwatch. Besides the announcement of a new upcoming map and skins, we have an all new support character on the way and we also get another fantastic animated short—this time focusing on the origin story of Reinhardt Wilhelm.

Though Reinhardt may be one of the most optimistic (and loud) characters in game, it's interesting to see his backstory unfold in such beautiful animation. The short also comes with a bonus in giving us the backstory of the Eichenwalde map; now we know just exactly how the armor of Balderich von Adler ended up in that throne in the castle.

The short even gives us small nods to the in-game world where Reinhardt carves his name on the bar. We also get to see exactly how he lost his one eye, and he uses his voice lines in the game like "Barrier is failing!"

With the recent Overwatch shorts giving us such great backstories for characters like Mei and Rein, we have yet to explore a bunch more of them. Personally I'd like to see an animated short for Symmetra or Ana, maybe one for D. Va.

They don't all have to be tearjerkers, but they should all give us some good insight on our favorite characters.

We don't know when the next short will be released, but at least we have a new character to look forward to.

Overwatch is currently playable for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
