Here’s Why Black Panther Should Hype You Up

Two heroes stood out in Captain America: Civil War. Funnily enough, it was neither Cap nor Tony Stark. It was actually Spider-Man and Black Panther, portrayed by Tom Holland and Chadwick Boseman.

And while we know just how much hype Spider-Man: Homecoming is getting as its release date nears, we're finally getting an idea on Black Panther's role in the MCU. In an interview with Vulture, Marvel Studios bos Kevin Feige shared that even they as executives were looking at the movie with such high hopes.

"Black Panther is a huge part of the Marvel Comics mythology, and has been for 50-plus years. Other than his awesome, relatively brief appearance in Civil War, his history has been relatively untapped.... Every day, seeing the cast come together… it's just amazing. Across the board, it's the highest-class cast we've had on a first movie."

And if you think Doctor Strange was already an oddball among the MCU movies, you better think again. Feige says that Black Panther is going to bring up the diverse themes even more.

"The cast looks different than any of the other casts that we've had. Both in front of and behind the camera, it's almost entirely people of color, which I think is a special, important thing, and one of the reasons the film will be unique and as great as I think it's going to be."

Boseman is said to be Marvel's first choice when it came to casting T'Challa. And Feige shares that they really are on the money with the casting, because its epicness was starting to show.

Black Panther will be out in theaters on Feb. 18, 2018.
