Here's What's Replacing Magic: The Gathering's Standard Showdown Starting February

Magic: The Gathering players will have more reasons to play Standard again in the upcoming months thanks to the new rewards that Wizards of the Coast are offering from February 2017 to April 2017. This is a great way to encourage more players to play Standard until the release of Amorkhet.

On their Wizards Play Network section, the company announced the rewards and the requirements needed for each store to receive them. The shops will need to run fifteen Standard events between February 13 and April 16 to receive the following rewards:

5 Amonkhet posters for your store. Each poster depicts a not-yet-revealed character from the upcoming Spring set.
Additionally, all WPN stores that schedule Amonkhet Prerelease will recieve rewards for their Standard players:
Special land promo cards from a Standard-legal set: 10 for Core level stores, 20 for Advanced level stores, and 30 for Advanced Plus level stores. You'll issue these to any player that joins 6 Standard events at your store during that window.
3 exclusive playmats featuring art from a card in Amonkhet. Consider using these as rewards for sportsmanship, helping new players, innovative deckbuilding, or any other kind of behavior you want to see in your store.

This isn't the first time Wizards offered special rewards for Standard players. Last December, the company started the Standard Showdown events where players can win special booster packs.
