Here’s The Witcher Series’ Rumored Filming Location

It looks like the gears continue to turn for Netflix's highly anticipated The Witcher series.

Not only is the series slowly gearing up for production, but a new report from Omega Underground says that Netflix's adaptation of the novels that inspired CD Project Red's The Witcher video games will be filming eight episodes in Budapest, Hungary. That's a pretty fitting location for the series – after all, The Witcher franchise is entirely set in Europe.

The publication also reports that other European locations could be added to the production later on. Right now, however, Hungary seems to be the focal point in the upcoming Witcher series.

Though this new filming location update might not seem much, this new report is an indication that The Witcher series is getting ready for production. Slow but sure is better than nothing really and we can't wait to get some casting news from The Witcher adaptation's creative team.

The DC Extended Universe's Superman star Henry Cavill has previously expressed interest in the role, but so far there haven't been any updates on whether the Man of Steel's gotten what he wished for. But, there haven't been any other names mentioned either, so all we can really do is wait. With the location down pat, casting news will surely come soon.

The Witcher series doesn't have a release date just yet but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
