It's only been a couple of months since Star Wars: The Last Jedi made its big premiere, but it looks like Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy installment already has a digital release date.

Word has been circulating online that The Last Jedi will be available for digital purchase on March 14, 2018 right after publications like Star Wars News Net noticed that the New Zealand iTunes store posted up the film's digital release.

It might sound a bit early, but Disney's other Star Wars films Force Awakens and Rogue One got their home media rollouts around the same time. The Force Awakens got its home release back on April 1, 2016 while Rogue One got its home release on March 24, 2017.

Aside from behind-the-scene featurettes, Star Wars fans are expecting several deleted scenes from The Last Jedi's home release, some of which were described by director Rian Johnson in previous interviews. One of those scenes includes a cut sequence where Luke (Mark Hamill) lies to Rey (Daisy Ridley) and tells her that bandits are attacking Ahch-To's Caretakers.

"It's like suddenly you can see through the Matrix and you're like, ‘Oh my God, that big sequence that I love so much and I can't imagine the movie without, if we lift it out and put these two things together, it plays in a slightly different way but it plays better,'" Johnson said in an interview with Collider.

There's also a funeral for Han Solo too. Guess fans can expect a lot from The Last Jedi's home release.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is currently in cinemas but is close to finish its cinematic run.
