Here’s Our First Look At Jason Momoa In Aquaman Standalone

Warner Brother has just revealed the first look photo of Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry in the DC Extended Universe's standalone Aquaman movie.

First revealed by Entertainment Weekly, the photo shows off Momoa's rippling muscle covered up in muscles as he walks down with his hair drenched in what might be submarine or ship with his hair. Emerging from the shadows of the sea vehicle, the actor has a fierce look on his face.

Aquaman looked pretty good in Justice League but this version of Arthur Curry seems somewhat different from the Atlantean we met in the DCEU superhero team-up movie.

"It's going to look very different, it will feel very different — aesthetically, tonally, story-wise — it's my own take," Aquaman director James Wan says "It's a much more a traditional action-adventure quest movie."

Speaking with the publication even further, Momoa talks about what fans can expect to find in his very first standalone Aquaman movie.

"Justice League was only a weekend in Arthur Curry's life," Momoa explains. "This is a totally different beast. In Aquaman, you see when his parents met and what happened to hem. Then the little boy being raised and finding his powers and going through that and never being accepted on either side. And then becoming this man who puts up all these walls. You just slowly see this man harden up and be completely reluctant wanting to be king and not knowing what to do with these powers he has. I think James Wan just killed it."

That's good to hear. While fans loved the casting for all the characters in Justice League, many found the film's story arc for Aquaman a bit lacking, so it's great to hear that Aquaman will have a different take.

Aquaman makes its big debut on December 21, 2018.
