Here’s How Game of Thrones Influenced Aquaman

If there was any familiar face that's in both Game of Thrones and Aquaman, it would have to be good ol' Khal Drogo a.k.a. Jason Momoa.

And even if Aquaman is very far from the HBO Original series in as far as the story goes, there are some facets of the latter that contributed to the former.

Momoa shared with Digital Trends that Justice League director Zack Snyder was a huge fan of Game of Thrones, which had slightly influenced the director to talk to Momoa about the part in the DC film.

"I met him in the training stunt facility that I train at and I guess he really liked me because he later called me into his office and we talked about playing Aquaman. He had a really cool vision for what he wanted to do and how he wanted me to look. It's kind of Zack's baby."

Perhaps one thing that DC got right with Aquaman is to put a stop to the jokes on the King of Atlantis by casting someone so undeniably badass.

"The cool thing with Aquaman is how it taps into the native culture and that's something that we're only taught a little about, so there's a lot of interesting things. I really think it's the right time. It's really cool."

This is possibly why even DC and Warner Bros are very much behind Aquaman among the different standalone films in DC. Combine this with director James Wan's vision, and I'm pretty sure they're brewing a potential game-changer with DC.

Aquaman will be out in theaters on Oct. 5, 2018. In the meantime, everybody in the cast is pretty busy with training, like Queen Mera/Amber Heard's training regimen.
