Henry Cavill Says We'll Get 'The True Superman' In Justice League

Henry Cavill has been one of the more outspoken actors involved in the DCEU, admitting that Man of Steel and Batman V Superman was troubled not too long ago. Cavill wants to right the wrongs made from previous films and has promised fans that we will see a more faithful version of Superman in Justice League. It's an interesting revelation and one that fans of the character will be excited for.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly (via Screen Rant), Cavill revealed that he has been working with DCEU head and DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns. The actor claims that he and Johns have delved into the history of the character so that they can find the Last Son of Krypton's core characteristics. Considering how dark and gloomy Superman has been in the DCEU - remember when he said "Superman was never real" in BvS? - this is a step up.

"Geoff [Johns] and I have been delving into the history of the character to get to the core of who Superman is. This is the first time we see the true Superman. The Superman who is confident, and sure, and full of hope and joy."

It will be interesting to see how different Superman will be when he comes back from the dead in Justice League. From what has been said above, it's clear that they want to make him a character more hopeful and optimistic than his previous appearances. With Matthew Vaughn wanted for a Man of Steel sequel, this makes this ‘true Superman' talk more exciting.

Justice League hits theaters this week on November 17.
