Harrison Ford To Return in 'Blade Runner' Sequel


As you probably already know: Ridley Scott's 1982 science fiction film Blade Runner is getting a sequel. According to Variety, Alcon Entertainment announced that Prisoners director Denis Vileneuve is in negotiations to direct Harrison Ford in the Blade Runner sequel.

The script of the Blade Runner sequel was written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, and it will take places decades after the events of the first film.

Ford, who plays Rick Deckard in the film, recently said that the sequel's script was the "best thing he's ever read."

Ridley Scott is going to produce the film.

"We are honored that Harrison is joining us on this journey with Denis Villeneuve, who is a singular talent, as we experienced personally on ‘Prisoners,'" Kosove and Johnson said in a joint statement. "Hampton and Michael, with Ridley Scott, have crafted a uniquely potent and faithful sequel to one of the most universally celebrated films of all time, and we couldn't be more thrilled with this amazing, creative team."
