Han Solo Movie Casts Sing Street Actor

Though the Han Solo spin-off has already started production, news I still coming out of actors getting cast, just like The Wire's Michael K. Williams. The latest addition to the Han Solo ensemble is Sing Street's Ian Kenny.

According to Variety, there are no details on who Kenny will be playing in the movie, but since he is kind of young, my best bet is that he's part of Beckett's (Woody Harrelson) gang of orphans (?) whom Han was a member of. Kenny played a pretty mean character in Sing Street, so he'd fit right in as a member a gang of young space delinquents.

Disney CEO Bob Iger had just confirmed that the Han Solo movie will be spanning over six years, starting when Han's 18 and ending when he's 24. I don't know if Ehrenreich will be playing the younger version of Han as well, but I could imagine Kenny's character acting as some sort of rival in Beckett's gang.

Since the production is still adding cast members today, that could bode good news for Rogue One actor Alan Tudyk who has expressed his interest in being in this movie as well. In Rogue One he played the Imperial droid K-2SO, but it's entirely possible for him to play a human (or alien) character for the Han Solo standalone movie.

Han Solo: A Star Wars Story is set for a release on May 25, 2018.
