Han Solo: Is Jedi Quinlan Vos Going To Appear In The Movie?

With the absence of any Jedi in Rogue One, I really wasn't expecting them to appear in any future Star Wars spin-offs, much less the Han Solo movie which is currently in production. News, however, has hinted at the appearance of Jedi Quinlan Vos.

According to Making Star Wars, one of the characters in the movie is named Dryden Vos, which some have speculated is a codename that Quinlan Vos had assumed a la Obi-Wan/Ben Kenobi. Vos had a very rich history in comics, and the Clone Wars animated series saw him in a relationship with ex-Sith Asajj Ventress.

Legends has actually had Vos run into a young Han Solo in the comics, so it wouldn't be too farfetched to see him in this movie. Saw Gerrera was able to make the jump from the Clone Wars to Rogue One, so why shouldn't Quinlan Vos be any different?

Personally I'm kind of wishing that we get a little lightsaber action in the movie. Sure I never thought of it before, but I'm kind of missing the elegant lightsaber duels that the prequels introduced. J.J. Abrams was so adamant about keeping the lightsaber scenes in Force Awakens more rough and realistic, but a lot of fans have admitted that lightsaber battles in the prequels were one of the movies' redeeming qualities.

Then again, Dryden Vos could be entirely unrelated to Quinlan, but I'm just trying to be optimistic.

Han Solo: A Star Wars Story comes out May 25, 2018.
