Hajime Tabata Reiterates Square Enix Updates for Final Fantasy XV

The new year has finally rolled in, and for Final Fantasy XV gamers that means one thing: Square Enix's promised updates. Last December, Final Fantasy XV game director Hajime Tabata promised that he'd be adding in more content to the popular Japanese role-playing videogame to make it even better. This time, Tabata's reminding gamers that he and the rest of the team will keep true to their word and send out more updates and Final Fantasy XV DLCs.

Writing a new year's post on the official Square Enix blog last weekend, Tabata listed down all of the things Square Enix had accomplished through Final Fantasy XV and promised that the studio would be giving back more to the fans with updates and DLCs for FFXV. Though the director doesn't go into much detail on exactly what kind of updates and DLCs the videogame developer would be rolling out, Tabata promises that they'll be finding ways to give gamers a better experience on the open world action role-playing videogame.

Happy New Year!

In 2016, we were able to deliver FINAL FANTASY XV to everyone at long last.

We were able to accomplish the goals we set out to achieve, such as subtitles for 12 languages, 4 fully voiced languages, and a global simultaneous release date.

By creating a full CG movie, we provided a new experience of enjoying a movie and a game as a set to the world.

By creating and distributing a cell animation, we were able to realize a new way for everyone to get to know the game characters.

By releasing a mini-game as a mobile app, we were able to bridge the real world to the game world.

We, the FFXV team, were able to achieve these things because of the warm and strong support of our fans.

I have decided that 2017 is a year of giving back to everyone for their kindness.

There are many players enjoying FFXV in various ways, and nothing makes us happier than this.

To provide a long-lasting and even more enjoyable experience with FFXV for everyone, we will continue to update the game and release DLC.

We ask for your continued support for FINAL FANTASY XV in 2017.

While the bit on the updates doesn't seem like much, fans need not worry. Tabata already promised last month that there'd be more bosses, modes and additions to the story – gamers will just have to wait and see what exactly will these new content be in the new FFXV updates and DLCs.
