HBO's Watchmen: Set Photos Reveal Don Johnson's Possible Role

HBO's upcoming Watchmen show has been interesting, to say the least. Rather than a direct adaptation of the source material like Zack Snyder's movie, this will be a much different version of the story we know to make it feel more modern. The cast was also introduced recently and we still don't know who most of them will be, assuming it has the same characters from the comic.

Thanks to a number of set photos, we can at least confirm the day job of Don Johnson's character; a policeman.

Considering how radically different this version of Watchmen is going to be, it's hard to tell if Johnson is going to be a new character or a different version of someone we already know. Admittedly, this does add a layer of mystery to this interesting adaptation but an argument could be made that this could have been an original show about superheroes.

It's worth noting that a police strike was brought up during the Watchmen comics, so we this could be a reference to that. Since Johnson was announced in advance it's easy to assume that he will be one of the many vigilantes trying to make the world a better place, though that's all speculation.

No release date for HBO's Watchmen has been announced.
