Guardians of the Galaxy’s Karen Gillan Teases Nebula’s Human Side And Her Cameo in Avengers: Infinity War

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is going to look a little different now that Karen Gillan's cold alien Nebula takes the side of her sister and the rest of the Guardians as they go on another epic romp across space, and based on a new interview with the Doctor Who star, it looks like the film's going to be a whole lot lot better than the first Guardians of the Galaxy.

Speaking in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter about her directorial debut and her other film projects, Karen Gillan reveals the difference between James Gunn's 2015 Guardians of the Galaxy and the film's upcoming sequel. With better music, better quips and better takes on each of the different Guardian's issues, it seems like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is going to be the highlight of 2017.

"I'm so excited for people to see it! I just feel like it's all of the best elements of the first one, just amplified. It's even better – it's funnier, the music's even better … the second album is a blinder. It's great. And in the first one everyone was being established. Now that that's out of the way, you really get to delve into all of their dilemmas and things like that. I think family would really be the main theme of the thing. And my character Nebula is dealing with a whole lot of stuff there – we see a whole new side to her. A much more human side actually, where we understand how truly awful and difficult her daddy issues are."

That's not all. Gillan also talked about her Nebula cameo in Avengers: Infinity War.

"Yeah, she's making a cheeky appearance there. I don't know how much I'm allowed to say, but I'm pretty happy with how much she gets to do."

Gillan's grand confession may not reveal whether Nebula will be teaming up again with Thanos or whether she'd try to wear the Infinity Gauntlet in Avengers: Infinity War, the actresses little tease tells us that Nebula will remain as spirited as ever while gaining enough screentime in the feature.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 makes its cinematic debut on May 5 this year while Avengers: Infinity War premieres on May 4, 2018.
