Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s Karen Gillan Wants to Return to Doctor Who as Amy Pond

It looks like Amy Pond still wants to return to Doctor Who.

Actress Karen Gillan will be returning to the big screen soon in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and while the Scottish celebrity is busy preparing for her directorial debut in the Tupperware Party, the actress expresses interest in making a short return to Doctor Who.

Gillan was known for her role as the companion of the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith), Amy Pond, and while the series has moved on to its 12th Doctor (Peter Capaldi), Gillan says that she would be very willing to return to the British science fiction series. Expressing her interest in returning in an interview with The Wrap, Gillan revealed:

"If they ask me, I would be back there in a shot, but I think I'm more excited about seeing Pearl [Mackie] take over as companion, because she was amazing."

Besides Rose, Amy was one of the most popular companions in Doctor Who, and though the series will be featuring a new companion soon, fans would probably love to see Amy Pond again in a few cameos here and there.

Doctor Who series 10 is expected to premiere on BBC sometime in April this year.
