For some fans, Baby Groot would be one of the highlights of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. As a grown tree figure, Groot already made a mark for his three-word liners throughout the film.
Add his parting save to the team and eventual rebirth to become a mini Groot, and he's basically become the easy star among the Guardians. For Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, it seems that his Baby Groot form is not the only one we're privy to seeing.
According to an interview with USA Today, actor Vin Diesel who voices Groot shared that this wouldn't be Groot's final form yet—especially since we're still looking at a third installment for the film.
"The first Groot we saw was a freshman in college. This [Guardians 2] Groot is in nursery school. Wait ‘til we see the full-fledged working-man Groot. Wait ‘til we see Groot!"
There's an emphasis on the last Groot, which seems to hint at some special final form worth seeing. I already thought that the first Groot was on the same level as a working man. And as a little spoiler, we even get to see Groot's other form in the second movie.
What exactly this final form brings, and what it will mean for the Guardians, we'll have to see. After all, director James Gunn did tease that the third installment will be different from what we've seen so far.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will finally land in theaters on May 5.
