Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Star Confirms When Avatar 2 Filming Starts

It looks like Zoe Saldana is currently one of the hottest and in-demand stars today. Apart from the much-awaited Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and, obviously, Avengers: Infinity War, where we expect to see her character Gamora, there's one other film that fans have been waiting for quite a while.

Since the announcement of Avatar 2 back in 2016, there's been a lot of demand for more updates. Director James Cameron can't even seem to provide much of that, since the project is looking to be more ambitious than what was delivered back in 2009.

At the very least, we do know that it's moving forward even with the setbacks and delays that have been going on since last year for the expected sequels. Talking to Screen Rant, the actress shared that she is part of the action in terms of the team moving forward with filming as early as this year:

"We haven't shot it yet. Anything I can tell you about Avatar 2, 3, 4, 5? We're going to start this summer. Late summer, and it's probably going to go all the way until early next year shooting, and I'm really excited about it."

This confirms earlier speculations that filming may start as early as August. Now, the next question is whether this assured filming date may make the franchise's 2019 release date plausible.

We can't really rush Cameron for the film seeing as how the first one alone already took a decade. Given the bigger scale at more than one movie follow-up, we might have so many Cameron blockbusters plotted and spaced out throughout the years for our viewing enjoyment.
