Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2: Baby And Teen Groot Concept Art

One of the best things about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was definitely Baby Groot, and concept artist Anthony Francisco has decided to share a handful of his designs on Groot for the movie.

He posted all of these images on Facebook and even attached this message to describe the album:

"James Gunn has done it again! One of the funnest films I have worked on, If you haven't seen the film yet please check it out. I feel so lucky and very grateful to be part of an amazing group of designers at Marvel Studios Visual Development. It's been four and a half years when I first started on the first Guardians of the Galaxy. One of my favorite contributions to the MCU is the development of Baby Groot , I pretty much watched him grow, I did the concept design from potted Groot to Baby Groot , and now Teen Groot! GOTG Vol.2 was all about family and this character is so close to my heart because my kids were the inspiration that helped me in finding the design. And my son is much like baby groot, he is a handful but always cute and adorable."

Seeing that the movie's timeline took place a few months after the first Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol.2 is probably the last that we'll see of Baby Groot. It has been confirmed as well that this Groot doesn't have any of the older Groot's memories, so he'll have to learn everything all over again from this point on.

Some part of me was wishing that we get Groot in full uniform just like the comics. I thought we would get a nod in the first movie, but the Ravagers actually stuffed Groot into a little suit for Vol. 2. I wonder if they'll make him wear a suit full time in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is now in theaters.
