Gotham’s Other Couple Will Become Darker

Gotham has been known as a relatively dark TV series. Fox's take on the characters in the Dark Knight's universe have been a little moodier and broodier—just look at Jim Gordon, portrayed by Ben McKenzie.

Things are about to go darker when the show reaches its finale. According to TV Line, the main characters, Jim and Lee Thompkins will undergo some rebirth-level transformations, the likes that may not be easily repaired.

Gotham executive producer John Stephens reiterated that this transformation is far from becoming good for either character:

"[They will be] much darker, more dangerous, almost evil versions of themselves."

This comes with a lot of context as the show progresses. For instance, Bruce is already taking that big step towards taking up the cape and cowl as the Dark Knight. Fellow iconic character, Selina Kyle, is also ready to get her own whip, a ringing weapon for favorite Batman villain Catwoman.

Let's not forget that other villainous characters are starting to see the path towards being a villain. Nygma and Oswald's bromance relationship has taken quite the sour turn, almost everyone's expecting that this rift will not easily be healed for them to go back to how they were as a favorite tandem.

Expect more developments as Gotham airs its third season, with a two-part finale to be aired on June 5.
