Goosebumps Sequel is Now Filming, Official Title Revealed

The sequel to the 2015 Goosebumps film has finally started filming, and author R.L. Stine has revealed its official title on Twitter. It was rumored that the sequel's title would be Goosebumps: Slappy's Revenge, but R.L. Stine confirms that it's now officially titled Slappy Halloween.

"Happy to announce that filming has begun on the Goosebumps movie sequel," Stine tweeted "Title: Slappy Halloween. Meanwhile, the new Goosebumps SlappyWorld book has just been published."

The original film starred Jack Black as the fiction version of Stine and he also provided the voice of Slappy, the evil puppet. It's still unclear if Black will reprise his role for the sequel. The film is rumored to based on the book Slappy's Revenge but based on the title Stine revealed, it might actually turn out that way.

The first film made $150 million worldwide, so it's no surprise that Sony greenlit a sequel for it. The sequel's cast has gone through a total overhaul, bringing new characters and actors that were not in the first film. Last month, it was announced that Jeremy Ray Taylor (IT), Madison Iseman (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), Ben O'Brien (Manchester by the Sea), and Caleel Harris (Castle Rock) were cast as the children in the sequel. Earlier this week, Wendi McLendon-Covey (Reno 911), Ken Jeong (The Hangover), and Chris Parnell (30 Rock) were also added to the cast.
