Godzilla: King of Monters Actor Teases a Monster Fight ‘You Will Never Forget’

Gareth Edwards introduced us to a new Godzilla universe back in 2014, and now we have to wait until 2020 to catch the sequel, Godzilla: King of Monsters. O'Shea Jackson, who has apparently been cast as someone important in the movie, talks about Godzilla versus King Ghidora as well as the other giant monsters that will be in the film.

Talking to Collider, Jackson explains:

"As a Godzilla fan, I know that I was shocked to find out that the second movie has King Ghidorah, like, King Ghidorah is the Godzilla bad guy, like, three-headed golden dragon that shoots lightning, is gonna be in the movie that I'm in! We got Mothra, we got Rodan, and we got King Ghidorah all in the same film, and in the last scene between Godzilla and King Ghidorah, I promise you, you will never forget it, in your life. As a nerd, I am foaming at the mouth to get in the editing room… Godzilla will be the number one movie. The way that [Godzilla] and Ghidorah fight… man… Kong better bring some shit."

It's worth noting that last year's Kong: Skull Island is set in the same cinematic universe, and Legendary is planning on building up to a showdown between Godzilla and Kong. With both monsters apparently on the side of "good," I'm hoping this doesn't turn out to be a Batman v Superman film where they fight for ten minutes then team up to beat the bigger baddie.

Though I admittedly had problems with the first Godzilla's narrative, I have hopes that this sequel will right all the wrongs of the first movie. Sure the story was incredibly slow, but that last minute fight with Godzilla and the "MUTO" was just perfection.

Godzilla: King of Monsters comes out March 22, 2019.
