Ghost in the Shell To Start Shooting With Scarlett Johansson in 2016

On January, it was announced that Scarlett Johansson will play Motoko Kusanagi, the lead role in the upcoming live-action Ghost in the Shell film. There has been a mixed reaction among fans, with some even signing the petition to replace her for white-washing the role of a Japanese character.

Johansson told Collider, "It's happening. It will be shooting the beginning of next year, so I think we start production January or February and it's me and Rupert [Sanders], and that's all I know."

The film has been in development for six years, so I'm glad they're moving on with the project, but at the same time I'm worried that the adaptation will disappoint fans of the amazing cyberpunk anime. I hope they won't ruin this like how Hollywood did with the Dragon Ball film. So do you you think Johansson will kick ass as Motoko in the live-action Ghost in the Shell movie ?

Ghost in the Shell will hit theaters April 14, 2017.
